Landscaping and Paver Patio Project Kennett Square PA.
Adding a Patio to the Landscape
In Kennett Square, PA. Pro Image Landscaping were contracted to do a small but very useful backyard concrete paver patio. The area for the landscaping project was an expansive lawn area, so we had plenty of design space to begin designing the patio project.
We service Wilmington, Newark and Hockessin Delaware as well as Garnet Valley, West Chester, Chadds Ford and Kennett Square Pennsylvania and neighboring cities in DE, PA.
The client requested that we build columns to install future lighting fixtures, low voltage lighting, a firepit, sitting walls and hardscape steps into the landscaping design plan. A decorative circle inlay was also worked into the patio floor for aesthetics.
The design was challenging because of all the elements the client wanted to incorporate into a space that didn't extend past the exterior home walls. The reason for this was to still maintain a sizable lawn area for the kids while creating a functional patio design for the whole family.
Different color sitting wall materials were chosen by the client for some variation in aesthetics, which may not be pleasing to your eye. We can suggest a color scheme that will go well with the home exterior colors, but to each his own style and final selections are always made by the clients.
I would have to say the firepit was the focal point for this hardscape design, it was one of the customers first requests to incorporate into the patio design. Because of the smaller paver patio size the firepit had to be bumped out slightly so more floor space was available to use for use.
Low Voltage Lighting & Other Paver Additions
Low voltage lighting were used in the steps leading up to the house and underneath the cap along the sitting walls for a beautiful ambient nite atmosphere. On the steps we needed to use louvered lens covers to distribute the light downwards.
The paver step lights were at eye level when you sat down on the patio chairs, so we used louvered lenses so the light didn't bother the eyes whenever someone looked toward the step area. The concrete paver patio joints were filled with a polymeric joint sand. DO NOT use regular sand as it will erode and cause the patio to fail inevitable. We suggest Techni-Seal or SureBond landscaping products.
