Landscape Design in Garnet Valley, PA
We just love it when we get a referral call from new clients. To us, it's an indication that our clients are happy enough with our work that they pass on our name. We were currently doing the neighbor's landscape maintenance at a home located in Garnet Valley, PA. We got a call from the neighbors saying "The work you guys do to our neighbor house looks great and we want to have you come take a look at our home".
We service Wilmington, Newark and Hockessin Delaware as well as Garnet Valley, West Chester, Chadds Ford and Kennett Square Pennsylvania and neighboring cities in DE, PA.
Lawn Maintenance Done Right
The landscapes of the two homes were very similar but the property we maintained was in a lot better shape. The lawn was a darker shade of green and the landscape was full of colorful perennials. The paver patio in the backyard was in great shape from the day we installed it a few years ago. Our weekly visits with our lawn crews make it easy to perform routine maintenance not only to the lawn but the entire landscape with minimal effort and cost.
A Patio Design with Integrated Steps
When we met with the new neighbor during our consultation, we walked the entire property and talked about what they did and didn't like about their landscape and what things they wanted to see improved. The home was only a half-acre lot but there were plenty of space to divide into different areas that would be more useful to the family.
The couple had three children that needed their play area refurbished and moved to make more space for a larger patio they wanted to install. The original patio was done by some fly-by-night company and was literally falling apart to where it was a tripping hazard. We designed and installed a 400 square foot patio with integrated steps coming out of the rear porch exit. Plant beds were incorporated into the patio design to soften the look of the outdoor patio while adding visual interest. The playground area was moved further away from the patio to make room for the expansion and minimize noise.
During this renovation process it made sense to do all the hardscaping first because of the damage that happens to the lawn. Landscape areas during construction will be the last thing to update for a more maintenance-free landscape.
The landscape plants originally installed with the home were growing beyond the spaces they were intended for. So, I consulted with the clients about what plants and colors they liked or ideas from around the neighborhood they had. With Pro Image Landscaping, you don't need to know plant names and such. Just a little bit of conversation goes a long way in listening to what the customer wants and then we present them with a simpler landscape maintenance design.
Lawn Renovation - Aeration & Reseeding
The final phase was the lawn renovation. It was in Okay condition when we first started working with this client so there was definitely some room for improvement. We planned to do the aeration and reseeding in the fall to thicken up the lawn. Along with proper watering and feeding, the lawn emerged in the spring and looked meaner and greener than ever before! What's better than that, is they pay less per month for landscape maintenance now than they did before, so give us a call to see what we can do for you!
