Our Outdoor Patio Attracts Another Home Owner

The new paver walkway that we installed for the front entrance.

Our previous client was happy to give all the details about the challenges we worked through during their project and how happy they were with the final outdoor patio project Pro Image Landscaping installed for them.

We Know Our Backyard Landscaping!

After getting some great positive feedback, we got a call from the new client who was interested in rehabbing her backyard landscaping and wanted us to visit her property. We scheduled an appointment a week later and met at her home in Hockessin Delaware. We both walked the property and looked at the backyard area where there were overgrown trees, a pile of large granite boulders and a retaining wall made of landscape timbers that were rotting badly.

Decking Includes New Masonry Wall

We were also working with our decking and siding company during the same time, so things had to be communicated daily between everyone involved. Communication is key with customer service and we strive for excellent communication.

The decking was removed so our hardscape crew could remove the old rotting timbers and make way for a new masonry block wall with quarry cut veneer stone. The masonry wall would have a floating flagstone bench seat about 21" high for seating along with mortared flagstone caps to finish the top of the wall. We had some access difficulty getting the heavy materials to where the wall was being built. This was due to the steep slope of the backyard and pile of boulders in the way.

Repurposing Boulders to Form a Border Wall

The backyard plan was to remove a section of trees and overgrown vegetation to create a more usable lawn area. After all the trees, roots and overgrown vegetation were removed, we repurposed the boulders as a sitting\border wall. We graded the rough terrain into a smooth flat grade and planted tall fescue drought tolerant seed for a beautiful lawn area.

Natural Stone Used for the Masonry Wall

Another look at the paverwalkway connecting to the street.

The veneered cinderblock wall was faced with Quarry Cut brand natural stone. There are other faux stone manufacturers but nothing compares to using real stone for your masonry wall. A smooth mortared joint was preferred on this masonry wall to give the stone a very clean look.

A Flagstone Patio Added with Stepping Stone Boulders!

The client loved the walls so much after it was almost finished, she asked if we could also do some additional hardscape work. This included a small flagstone patio area and large stone boulder steppers to comfortably get down from the side of the decking which was about 12 inches higher than ground level. So, they were definitely needed to get down to ground level from the decking comfortably. Our crew used polymeric joint seem to stabilize the joints between the flagstone and large stones steppers.

Leftover Stepping Stones Used for a Walkway Path

After finishing installation of the flagstone and steps we had a few large flagstone pieces left over from the stone we bought so we used it as stepping stones for a walkway path that lead from the main area of the side yard playground area. Pro Image offers masonry veneer, paver patios, flagstone patios so if you're interested in having your beautiful outdoor patio installed, give us a call, you won't be disappointed.
